Anthony Volmink scored a brace, including a late long-range try, to help Griquas beat the Pumas 37-29 in Kimberley on Friday night.
Griquas moved to the top of the Currie Cup standings at this early stage of the competition, with the bonus-point win following an impressive victory over the Sharks in their opening fixture.
The Pumas are still winless after they again fell short in the dying stages, having suffered a one-point defeat against the Lions last Saturday.
Volmink opened the scoring for the home side with a wonderful break from his own half, but it was his second try in the 77th minute that set up the win for Griquas after the two teams were deadlocked at 29-29 with 10 minutes to go in the fixture.
Another bonus-point win in the single-round competition is massive for the home team, who in the end outscored the Pumas by five tries to four to move up to 10 points in the Currie Cup standings.
