The Reds could battle to retain the services of fullback Ayumu Goromaru, who has received an offer from Toulon.
It's reported that Toulon president Mourad Boudjellal is keen to lure the Japanese star to France from next season, with a one-year deal that has the option of a second-year extension believed to have been offered.
Goromaru, who was a top performer during Japan's World Cup campaign last year, divided opinions when he opted to join the Reds for this Super Rugby season rather than newcomers, the Sunwolves.
He could make his Super Rugby debut when the Reds kick off their campaign against the Lions on 27 February, with a spokesperson for the Reds stating on Monday that there was no truth to the reports suggesting Goromaru was heading to Toulon.
