Montpellier flyhalf Johan Goosen does not think he will play for the Springboks again.
Goosen retired from rugby at the end of 2016 to get out of his contract with Racing 92. However, he was only able to return to the field at the start of this European season when Montpellier paid Racing €1.4-million to buy the 26-year-old out of his contract.

Goosen has earned 13 Test caps, the last of which came against Wales in Cardiff in November 2016. He told Netwerk24 that he doesn’t expect to add to his tally.
‘To be honest, I don’t think I’ll ever play for the Springboks again,’ he said. ‘The players who are currently there are doing really well and it’s nice to see the Boks play good rugby. I’ll do anything for the Bok jersey, but it will be tough to get a spot in the team with the players currently there. You have to be honest with yourself …’
Goosen will be sidelined for at least the next two months after suffering an ankle injury against Toulon last weekend.
