Good and bad news for Stormers

Damian de Allende and Rynhardt Elstadt are available for the Stormers' next match against the Sunwolves on 8 April.

De Allende injured his ankle while playing for the Kintetsu Liners in Japan last December, while Elstadt suffered a groin injury in pre-season.

However, the Stormers have lost two players to injury.

Dillyn Leyds missed out on selection for the Stormers' game against the Jaguares after sustaining a knee injury in training last week. It has since been confirmed the winger tore his anterior cruciate ligaments and will not feature for the Stormers again this year.

Scrumhalf Jano Vermaak, who last played against the Sharks at Newlands two weeks ago, had a neck operation and will be out of action for up to four months, according to coach Robbie Fleck, who confirmed these injuries via teleconference from Buenos Aires following the Stormers' 13-8 win over the Jaguares.

Fullback Cheslin Kolbe will also be closely monitored once the Stormers arrive back in South Africa after he had to leave the field having taken a heavy knock to the head against the Jaguares. Kolbe did pass a concussion test afterwards, but it is unclear whether he will be available for their next match.

'Cheslin didn't look good at all when he came off the field. He did pass a concussion test, but they'll have to reassess his injury when we're back home,' said Fleck.
