The Golden Lions will wear blue jerseys in the Currie Cup final against the Free State Cheetahs to commemorate 130 years of domestic rugby.
The Lions are traditionally kitted out in red, but the union confirmed on Wednesday that the players will swap to blue for the final.
In 2014, when the union celebrated 125 years, they wore a similar commemorative jersey.
The Lions are third on the all-time list with seven Currie Cup titles.
