Gloucester have offered to cover the costs of new fan tattoos following the change of the club’s crest.
Gloucester Rugby CEO Stephen Vaughan recently announced that the club is going through a re-branding phase and on Tuesday they unveiled a new crest as part of the process.
The new logo is a shield within which the cherry and white colours form a lion’s head and the date of their founding, 1873.
Club officials have now confirmed they will reimburse supporters should they want to upgrade their old Gloucester logo tattoos to the new one or simply add the latest crest to their tattoo collection.
‘We understand change is not for everybody and if they have taken the time, energy and commitment to put our crest on their bodies, then the least we can do is show the human side and our support,’ said Vaughan.
‘We will reimburse them the cost of a tattoo if they wanted to get the new Gloucester Rugby logo tattooed on their person.’
Gloucester, who is coached by Johan Ackermann, recently announced Franco Marais, Jaco Kriel, Danny Cipriani and Matt Banahan as their marquee signings ahead of the 2018-2019 season.
