Warren Gatland is reported to be the front-runner to take over as England head coach when Eddie Jones’ contract comes to an end.
Jones is set to be in charge of England until the end of the 2021 season after signing a contract extension last year, but the Rugby Football Union (RFU) previously stated it wanted a successor to be in place by 2020 to ensure a smooth transition.
According to the Telegraph, Gatland looks to be the leading candidate for the top job. Negotiations between the RFU and Gatland have reportedly already taken place, but the RFU rejected the allegation.
Gatland and Jones go head-to-head on Saturday when Wales host England in the Six Nations.
