Angus Gardner has been appointed to referee the Super Rugby final on 4 August.
It is the Australian’s maiden Super Rugby final appointment and reward for his high-quality performances throughout the season, according to Sanzaar.
Gardner made his Super Rugby debut in 2012 when he refereed the Reds against the Rebels in Brisbane. The 33-year-old is now one of the most experienced Super Rugby referees, having blown 60 matches, including 13 in 2018.
The assistant referees and TMO for the final will be announced next week.
