French ref for Boks-England Test

French duo Jérôme Garcès and Romain Poite will referee the Springboks' Tests against England and Wales respectively in November.

The Springboks are scheduled to take on the Barbarians followed by three Tests against England, Italy and Wales during their end-of-year tour.

Mike Frazer has been tasked with handling the Boks' clash with the BaaBaas at Twickenham on 5 November. Garcès will officiate the Test against England at the same venue a week later, while George Clancy will take charge of South Africa's game against Italy in Florence.

The Boks' final game of the season, against Wales in Cardiff, will be refereed by Poite.

In other appointments, South African trio Craig Joubert, Marius van der Westhuizen and Jaco Peyper will officiate two Test matches each.

Joubert’s first assignment is the Test between Wales and Australia in Cardiff on 5 November, followed by the clash between Fiji and Japan on 27 November in France.

Van der Westhuizen will referee Ireland against Canada and Wales versus Japan on 12 and 19 November respectively, while Peyper will wield the whistle in the Tests between Ireland and New Zealand on 19 November, and England against Australia on 3 December.
