Sharks defence coach Michael Horak is pleased with what he's seen from Frans Steyn and JP Pietersen at training.
The Bok duo returned to Durban earlier this week having completed their Japanese club commitments.
Horak said he was impressed with the players' form and fitness levels, describing them as 'both looking in fantastic physical condition'.
Horak also confirmed that the rehab of Beast Mtawariria, who sustained a calf strain in the Sharks' opening match against the Cheetahs, is coming along nicely, while Willem Alberts has been training for two and a half weeks at full steam.
'I think we’re in a fortunate situation,' he said of the squad depth and players returning to active duty. 'The conditioning and rehab staff have done a fantastic job so we should be able to select a strong lineup for this weekend.'
However, in some bad news for the Sharks, Jean Deysel suffered an injury to the lower part of his leg and may not be available for the match against the Stormers at Newlands.
