Jean-Marc Doussain kicked a penalty goal in the 79th minute to hand France a 19-17 win over Scotland at Murrayfield.
Scotland outscored the French by two tries to one, and led 14-9 at half-time. Until the final minute, they looked to be on course for a famous victory.
An intercept try by Yoann Huget early in the second stanza allowed France to take the lead. Duncan Weir would kick a penalty to regain the initiative for Scotland, but then a transgression in the final seconds handed Doussain the chance to win the game for the visitors.
The result keeps France's Six Nations title hopes alive.
