Fiji capped off a fine weekend by claiming the Paris Sevens title after beating New Zealand 35-24 in the final on Sunday.
The Fijians came into the match having already won the Sevens Series after fending off the USA’s challenge in the Cup semi-finals.

While no one would have blamed them for already turning their attention to the celebrations, Fiji showed their class with a three-try first-half blitz, opening up a 21-point gap that proved too big a mountain for New Zealand to climb.
Napolioni Bolaca scored a try in each half, while Jerry Tuwai scored just before the break to take the game away from New Zealand.
The New Zealanders looked to get back into the game after scoring in the first half through Jonah Nareki, while Regan Ware went over in the second half when the Fijians lost Meli Derenalagi to a yellow card for an intentional knockdown.
While Dylan Collier and Ware added further tries, it only made the scoreline look more competitive, as by that stage the final had already been won.
