Owen Farrell's superb kicking display proved to be the difference in Sydney on Saturday, according to SARugbymag.co.za's Opta-powered stats.
While the Wallabies conceded just nine penalties in the match, six of them resulted in 18 points for Farrell. England conceded just six penalties, with Bernard Foley kicking three of them through the posts.
The Wallabies dominated possession (53%) – as they have done throughout this series – and outscored their opponents by five tries to four. They made more running metres (378 to 288), clean breaks (10 to six) and offloads (10 to five), yet were unable to come away with a consolation win.
Australia's lineout let them down twice in the match, including early in the second half when Stephen Moore's throw went too high. England went on to score from the resultant 5m scrum. The tourists won all nine of their lineouts.
