EP Rugby president Andre Rademan has been admitted to the intensive care unit of a Gqeberha (PE) hospital after testing positive for Covid-19.
According to a report on Netwerk24, Rademan had been in hospital for a few days, but he was in a normal ward.
On Monday, his wife Carol shared a post on Facebook confirming that he had indeed been hospitalised.
‘He is tired, but is fighting Covid with everything in him. The doctor says he will have to stay in for about 10 more days. Please pray for him,’ she wrote.
On Tuesday, however, she confirmed her husband has been transferred to the ICU and placed on a ventilator.
It is believed EP coach Peter de Villiers and 11 of the union’s players who had all tested positive for Covid-19 two weeks ago, are on the mend.
