Saracens, Wasps and Sale are reportedly looking to sign Springbok captain Siya Kolisi after next year’s World Cup.
According to rugby channel Rugby Inside Line, two sources have confirmed the clubs’ interest in Kolisi. The rumour gained further momentum when it was discussed at length on a podcast published on Rugby Pass.
The Rugby Pod podcast, hosted by former Test internationals Andy Goode (England) and Jim Hamilton (Scotland) – who both played for Saracens – looks at the potential move, with Goode saying he believes Kolisi will stay in South Africa post-World Cup.
‘I don’t think he leaves South Africa. He has just been named captain, he is an icon there,’ Goode said. ‘And look at the uptake since his captaincy. They’ve beaten the All Blacks away from home and should have beaten them at home.’
Kolisi’s Stormers and Bok teammate Eben Etzebeth has also been linked with a move to French club Toulon after the World Cup.
