Eddie Jones has admitted that England have lost the battle to retain attack guru Scott Wisemantel, who is set to return to Australia to join the Wallabies.
Wisemantel, who had previously worked with Jones during Japan’s 2015 World Cup campaign, took up a role with England in 2018 on a temporary contract which expired after the 2019 World Cup final.

The 49-year-old Australian now looks set to return to his home country to potentially link up with the Wallabies under new head coach Dave Rennie.
While no formal contract has been signed with Rugby Australia, Jones has conceded defeat in retaining Wisemantel.
‘Scott’s contract finished at the end of the World Cup and we had some discussions but he has decided to move on,’ Jones said. ‘Whatever role he takes on next, I know he will do an outstanding job because he was fantastic for us. We will miss him but we wish him all the best, and his family.’
Wisemantel’s departure leaves England looking to find a new attack coach with just over two months until they begin their Six Nations campaign against France on 2 February.
