Eben back for reshuffled Stormers

Published on May 19, 2016 | Leave a response

Eben Etzebeth will start for the Stormers against the Bulls at Loftus on Saturday.

The Bok lock has overcome a calf injury and comes straight back into the second row alongside Pieter-Steph du Toit, while Bongi Mbonambi and Oli Kebble will start in changes to the front row. As has been a regular occurrence this season, the loose trio has been altered again, with Schalk Burger coming in at No 8 and Nizaam Carr moving to openside flank.

In the backline, Johnny Kotze replaces the injured Juan de Jongh at outside centre, with Kobus van Wyk shifting to the right wing and Leolin Zas returning from suspension at No 11. In a rotational change at scrumhalf, Nic Groom replaces Louis Schreuder.

Stormers – 15 Cheslin Kolbe, 14 Kobus van Wyk, 13 Johnny Kotze, 12 Damian de Allende, 11 Leolin Zas, 10 Jean-Luc du Plessis, 9 Nic Groom, 8 Schalk Burger, 7 Siya Kolisi, 6 Nizaam Carr, 5 Pieter-Steph du Toit, 4 Eben Etzebeth, 3 Frans Malherbe (c), 2 Bongi Mbonambi, 1 Oli Kebble.
Subs: 16 Scarra Ntubeni, 17 Alistair Vermaak, 18 Vincent Koch, 19 Rynhardt Elstadt, 20 Sikhumbuzo Notshe, 21 Louis Schreuder, 22 Brandon Thomson, 23 Huw Jones.
