Rory Duncan is reportedly expected to finish his final year at Worcester Warriors despite links to the Kings head coaching job.
Duncan was allegedly on a shortlist of candidates that included former Springbok coach Peter de Villiers and Samoa coach Steve Jackson to replace Deon Davids as Kings head coach.
The Kings have since ended their process to find a new coach following the confusion surrounding a World Rugby Level 3 qualification, which was a critical criterion for the job.
Instead, Robbie Kempson, who also works as the team’s high-performance director, will take the reins on short-term basis.
According to a report in the Worcester News, Duncan is now expected to finish his tenure at the Warriors in England as he enters the final year of his contract.
‘Rory is here and has been here right through pre-season,’ Worcester Warriors director Alan Solomons said. ‘He is contracted until the end of the season, so it’s business as usual.
‘He is working his socks off, like everybody else is, to ensure that we have the best season we can.’
