Pat Lambie produced a faultless kicking display to set up a Sharks victory in France on Thursday, writes BRENTON CHELIN.
On a night of limited attacking opportunities, Lambie showed once again why he'll be an asset to the Sharks in the season ahead. While not renowned for his goal-kicking prowess, Lambie slotted three first-half penalties to lay the platform for the Sharks' victory.
Nicolás Sanchez, not to be outdone by the Sharks pivot, played a role in each of Toulon's tries, the first coming through a deft kick off the outside of his boot. However, his three failures off the kicking tee would prove costly for the home side.
In the end, Lambie did enough during his 60 minutes on the park to win his personal duel and help his side to a morale-boosting victory.
