Demetri Catrakilis won the battle of the flyhalves in the Currie Cup final at Newlands, writes SIMON BORCHARDT.
The WP No 10 justified his selection ahead of Kurt Coleman, with an excellent goal-kicking performance that saw him slot a conversion and four penalties.
He also kicked well out-of-hand, and it was his quick tap pass that resulted in Jaco Taute's try.
In contrast, Marnitz Boshoff had a nightmare day with the boot, missing four penalties, including one at the end of the game that would have taken it into extra time.
He also had a drop goal charged down, narrowly missed with another attempt, and booted the ball over the WP deadball line when he was aiming to kick into the corner.
