Midi Olympique has unveiled the highest earners in the French Top 14, which include Toulon No 8 Duane Vermeulen.
According to the French newspaper, Racing 92 flyhalf Dan Carter makes €1.5-million (about R22-million) a year, more than double the amount of second-placed Matt Giteau of Toulon, who earns €700,000 (R10.2-million) annually.
Toulon duo Vermeulen and Leigh Halfpenny, as well as Stade Français' Rabah Slimani bring in €600,000 (R8.7-million).
Colin Slade (Pau), Johan Goosen (ex-Racing 92), Ma'a Nonu (Toulon), Bismarck du Plessis (Montpellier), Sergio Parisse (Stade Français) and Census Johnston (Toulouse) earn approximately €500,000 (R7.2-million).
