Springbok forward Pieter-Steph du Toit is on the cover of the new SA Rugby magazine, on sale this week!
When Du Toit appeared on our cover five months ago, debate was raging over his best position.
Du Toit had started at lock against Wales in Washington DC, but went on to play blindside flank in the Test series against England in South Africa. He returned to the second row for the two matches against Argentina, before wearing the No 7 jersey for the rest of the Rugby Championship. So impressive were Du Toit’s performances in that position that he was voted the Springboks’ player of the tournament by his teammates.
In this issue, chief rugby writer Jon Cardinelli looks at how Du Toit took his game to the next level and the impact he made, no matter what the number on his back.
