Former Kings loose forward Cornell du Preez has been named in Scotland’s starting lineup for their Six Nations opener against Wales in Cardiff this Saturday.
The South African will earn his sixth cap at No 8, while former Western Province and Stormers centre Huw Jones will start at 12.
Other notable inclusions see the return of fullback Stuart Hogg from injury, while British & Irish Lions scrumhalf Greig Laidlaw will play off the bench.
‘We’ve selected a squad that we believe can start the Six Nations championship with the intensity and speed required to win in Cardiff,’ said Scotland coach Vern Cotter.
‘We’re expecting a really physical game against a very good team. Wales have one of the best defences in the game and an attack that sees forwards passing much more and a structure that enables backs to get on ball.
‘I’m sure it’ll be great occasion to kick off this year’s championship and we can’t wait to get started.’
