Fourie du Preez could have a stint in Europe before finally hanging up his boots.
The Bok scrumhalf played his last match for his Japanese club, Suntory Sungoliath, last weekend prompting reports that he had retired.
However, Du Preez is still considering offers from European clubs and has yet to decide his future.
'I want to rest for a week or two and then make a final decision on my career,' he told Rapport.
Meanwhile, former Bok coach Heyneke Meyer is set to further his career in Japan, with the Canon Eagles and Docomo Red Hurricanes keen to obtain his services. According to Rapport, he has also not ruled out a move to a European club.
Meyer could be joined in Japan by former Bulls coach Frans Ludeke, who is tipped to become head coach of the Kubota Spears.
