Naka Drotské, who was shot during a home invasion last Thursday, should be released from hospital later this week.
The former Bok hooker was shot three times at his brother Tinus’ smallholding in Kameeldrift, outside of Pretoria.
On Saturday his condition changed from critical to stable. On Sunday afternoon the Drotské family announced that he had shown further signs of improvement and was sitting up.

‘The doctor has just attended to Naka and he is very pleased. Naka is sitting in his chair reading the newspaper,’ his nephew Steven Drotské wrote on Facebook.
‘His elbow will be operated on Tuesday and he will most probably go home by Friday. This is almost like a miracle.’

Former Bok prop Os du Randt, who was with Drotské during the home invasion and rushed him to hospital, shared a similar message on Facebook.
He said the doctors had made an allowance for Drotské to have his laptop with him after he asked for it because he wanted to stimulate his brain.
