Wallabies stars Israel Folau and David Pocock are still carrying injury niggles going into the Test against the Springboks on Saturday.
Folau picked up an ankle injury in the first Test against the All Blacks, while Pocock is struggling with an ongoing neck problem.
While the inclusion of both came as a boost for Wallabies coach Michael Cheika, he did not confirm whether they would be fully fit to face the Boks.
‘Israel is the type of guy who needs to be at full fitness to play and we know that it’s not worth it otherwise,’ Cheika told reporters. ‘He’s done a little bit of extra work in preparation every day to get himself ready and he’s looked really good.
‘Pocock a little less, his neck has struggled. He hasn’t done a lot of contact work this week which is always not good when you’re going into a big game like this.
‘He’s still got a couple of days to go. If he plays we’ve got to make sure that we protect him a little bit more. He’s taken a lot of action to his head and neck and we need to protect him a little bit more if he’s out there.’
