De Jager unlikely to face Cheetahs

Bulls lock Lood de Jager is likely to miss Saturday's match against the Cheetahs in Bloemfontein due to concussion.

De Jager made his Bulls debut against the Stormers in Cape Town on Saturday, but his night ended prematurely when he sustained an injury to the head in the 35th minute. He failed the HIA test and will have to follow World Rugby's return-to-play protocols.

'Lood's in hospital now with a concussion. I don't think he’s going to be available for next week,' Bulls coach Nollis Marais said.

Meanwhile, the Cheetahs are also sweating over the availability of winger Sergeal Petersen, after he sustained a knee injury in their Super Rugby opener against the Lions.
