Qualifier preview (Round 16)

There's little to play for in the final round of Currie Cup Qualifiers, with Griquas, Boland and the Pumas having already secured their place in the Premier Division.

Heading into last week's matches, the Griffons still had a mathematical chance of qualifying. But while they claimed a bonus-point victory over the EP Kings, the Pumas' win over the Leopards a day later ended the Griffons' slim hopes.

This weekend, top-of-the-table Western Province will will face the last-ranked Welwitchias in Windhoek. WP have won 12 of their 13 matches and could put 100 points past their hapless opponents.

Boland welcome the Golden Lions XV, with only three log points separating the sides in the standings. A win would give Boland a confidence boost as they head into the Premier Division.

In other matches, the Griffons host the Pumas, Border welcome the Free State XV, the SWD Eagles take on the Sharks XV in George, the Valke host the EP Kings in a basement battle, and the Leopards square off against Griquas.
