Ahead of the final round of Currie Cup fixtures, take a look at what your team needs to do to make it into the semi-finals.
Griquas (vs Lions, Kimberley) – Griquas have already secured their place in the top four. A win on Saturday over the Lions will ensure them of a home-semi final. However, if they lose, they can still be knocked down to fourth place.
Highest possible finish: 1st
Lowest possible finish: 4th
Cheetahs (vs Western Province, Bloemfontein) – Like Griquas, a win on Saturday will secure the Cheetahs a home semi-final. If Griquas do lose, the Cheetahs can finish on top of the log with a win. However, a loss to Western Province can knock the Bloemfontein side out of the playoffs, provided the Sharks and Lions also win.
Highest possible finish: 1st
Lowest possible finish: 5th
Lions (vs Griquas, Kimberley) – If the Lions beat Griquas, and the Cheetahs and Sharks lose, they will finish with a home semi-final. If the Lions lose and Sharks and Province win, the Johannesburg side will finish outside the top four.
Highest possible finish: 1st
Lowest possible finish: 5th
Sharks (vs Vodacom Blue Bulls, Pretoria) – The Sharks can still secure a home-semi final if they beat the Bulls and the Cheetahs and Lions lose. However, they will be knocked out if they lose and Western Province win.
Highest possible finish: 2nd
Lowest possible finish: 5th
Western Province (vs Cheetahs, Bloemfontein) – Despite winning two of their five games this season, Province can still claim place in the top two. They will need to beat the Cheetahs with a bonus point and hope that the Sharks and Lions lose. If Province lose, they will need two bonus points and hope that the Sharks lose to finish fourth.
Highest possible finish: 2nd
Lowest possible finish: 5th
Bulls (vs Sharks, Pretoria) – The Bulls need a big win at Loftus, beating the Sharks with a 12-points differential and scoring more than four tries for a bonus point. They will also need to deny the Sharks a losing bonus point, and hope the Cheetahs beat Province.
Highest possible finish: 4th
Lowest possible finish: 5th
