There is still no clarity over Allister Coetzee’s position as Springbok coach after his meeting with SA Rugby on Thursday.
Speculation has been rife that Coetzee is set to be sacked, with director of rugby Rassie Erasmus taking over the reins.
According to Rapport newspaper, no one would say after Thursday’s meeting when an announcement on Coetzee’s future would be made.
However, it remains more likely that Coetzee will take up a coaching position with the Canon Eagles in Japan later this year than continue coaching the Boks.
Meanwhile, Rapport newspaper claims that Erasmus has given Franco Smith the choice of moving to Cape Town and remaining part of the Bok coaching staff, or staying in Bloemfontein and giving up his Bok job.
Smith is also the Cheetahs director of rugby and moving to Cape Town would mean spending more time away from his family.
