Marcell Coetzee was the more physical and industrious of the two No 6s at Newlands on Saturday, writes JON CARDINELLI.
The Sharks pack dominated as a unit, even when blindside flank Willem Alberts spent 10 minutes of the first half in the sin bin. Coetzee was influential at the breakdown, and also won the battle at the gainline.
The Stormers scored from a driving maul in the first stanza. Although Nizaam Carr was the man to dot down, it was a try that was the product of good team work rather than any individual brilliance.
Carr struggled to make an impression. His pack lost the contest at the set pieces and breakdowns, and he in turn failed to impose himself with ball in hand.
