Former Wallabies head coach Michael Cheika has linked up with close friend Trent Robinson at the reigning National Rugby League champions, the Sydney Roosters.
Cheika will serve as the club’s coaching consultant where he will also work on the team’s attacking skills, reports The Australian.
‘Trent asked me to do some very specific stuff with a couple of the coaches and specific areas,’ said Cheika.
‘He has got me on a few projects. I’ve loved it. I was really honoured that they thought I could contribute. I want to make sure the stuff I’m doing is contributing the way Trent wants me to.’
The 52-year-old was linked with both Montpellier and Stade Francais in France after his international career ended with a 40-16 loss to England in the quarter-finals of the Rugby World Cup.
Cheika said he was ‘stoked’ to join a team with a ‘winning culture’.
