Michael Cheika could give the No 10 jersey back to Bernard Foley for the Rugby Championship Test against the Springboks in Port Elizabeth on Saturday.
Kurtley Beale, who started the tournament at inside centre, was moved to flyhalf for the tight win against the Boks and remained in the position for the loss against Argentina on the Gold Coast.

With the Wallabies, and Beale in particular, now under fire, Cheika suggested he could end the experiment and revert to his senior general.
‘It’s a matter of whether we want to build on the last two games and give those guys another opportunity,’ Cheika said. ‘Or do we throw Bernard back in there? I have a pretty solid idea of what I want to do but we will have to let it unfold.’

Cheika added that Foley was not dropped due to poor form.
‘I don’t think he was dragging the chain or anything. That certainly wasn’t the reason behind making the change.
‘We wanted to take a look at a different combination there and we will have a talk about it and see how they go together.’
