The Cheetahs have suffered an early blow in their planning for the next Pro14 season as scrumhalf Shaun Venter is set to sign for the Ospreys.
According to WalesOnline, Venter will sign a two-year deal with the Welsh club after an impressive 2018-19 season.
The news will come as a blow for the Free State side, who are rebuilding after suffering a mass exodus of players following their first season in the Pro14 last year.
The 32-year-old filled in as captain for Oupa Mohoje last season after the Springbok flank injured his knee during one of the opening fixtures.
Venter has been with the Cheetahs since 2014 after joining from the Kings.
