Cheetahs flank Andisa Ntsila has returned to training following his recovery from Covid-19.
The 26-year-old was the first local professional player who was diagnosed with the virus, shortly after arriving in Bloemfontein from Durban a fortnight ago.
According to Netwerk24.com, after self-isolating for the mandatory two weeks, Ntsila was tested again earlier this week and return a negative result.
‘Andisa joined us for training on Thursday and I think it was nice for him to be out of isolation. He was back on the field and could do fitness exercises,’ Cheetahs coach Hawies Fourie told Netwerk24.
‘He suffered, but that was to be expected from someone who was trapped in an apartment for two weeks. You are not going to be fully fit after that. Although he struggled, he was able to start running.’
‘The first thing to work on is to get his conditioning right after the lockdown and his isolation period, because he is probably far behind. But he is a hard worker and I believe he will catch up quickly.’
