THE MONEY MAN is backing the Hurricanes to beat the Chiefs in Saturday's Super Rugby semi-final in Wellington.
After a 0-2 start to the season, the Hurricanes righted the ship in a big way, winning 12 of their remaining 13 games. An emphatic statement to say the least! The Chiefs, on the other hand, lost three of their last six games in the regular season and I am not reading too much into their annihilation of the Stormers. Forget that result, the Stormers were pathetic and made the Chiefs look better than they were.
At 9/10, the bookies have the Hurricanes favoured to win by five or more points and I can’t find many reasons to bet against them. My concern is around the fact the Canes have flattered to deceive when it comes to the big games and I would hardly call the Sharks a big game. That said, I do feel the Canes will win by five or more but I will not be betting on this match. I may have an in-running bet but there are easier ways to make money this weekend.
