Hurricanes flyhalf Beauden Barrett has been ruled out for four weeks with a knee injury.
Results of scans showed Barrett sustained a grade-two tear of the medial collateral ligament in his right knee late in the Hurricanes' win over the Crusaders in Wellington on Saturday.
'Obviously I'm gutted with the injury, but fortunately it's not season-ending for me,' Barrett said. 'I've been pretty lucky to have a good run without injury for a while, but it's now up to me to work hard on my rehab and make sure I'm ready to return at the business end of the season.'
Barrett will miss games against the Sharks (home), Chiefs (home) and Blues (away) but is hopeful of returning in time for the match against the Crusaders in Nelson on 29 May.
