Former Bulls high-performance manager Xander Janse van Rensburg allegedly paid a schoolboy R1-million to join the union.
Janse van Rensburg is under investigation for alleged fraudulent activities during his time as high-performance manager from 2012 to February 2019, when he resigned.
According to Afrikaans newspaper Rapport, a schoolboy was ‘given’ R1-million to join the union.
Another accusation against Janse van Rensburg is that he organised a R40,000 monthly salary for promising centre Diego Appollis without the player having played a senior game for the union.
Two agents said the payments to Appollis had begun when he was still in Grade 11 at Garsfontein. Appollis’ agent Chandé Boshoff rubbished the claim, saying that while the now 18-year-old is current earning R40,000, he was not contracted while still a minor.

Furthermore, Janse van Rensburg reportedly paid for the alcohol at his wedding and other personal functions with money from the union’s bank accounts without authorisation from his superiors.
The purchase of equipment – like camera lenses, drones and a stack of clothing from a Japanese company – are all on the Bulls’ books, but none of it is in the union’s possession.
The clothes were reportedly shipped into the country from Japan among the Bulls’ baggage from their pre-season tour. The documentation was filled out and the clothes were not used by any of the union’s teams.
Janse van Rensburg declined to comment when asked about the latest allegations levelled at him.
