Vodacom Blue Bulls flank Roelof Smit has been ruled out of Friday's Currie Cup match against the Sharks at Kings Park.

Smit suffered a wrist injury in the Bulls' 29-14 loss to Western Province last week. 

Lock Jacques du Plessis also didn't train with the squad on Monday due to a hip contusion, but will be back on Tuesday..

Utility back Duncan Matthews and prop Justin Forwood have overcome their injury troubles and are also available for selection against the Sharks. 

Prop Ettienne Swanepoel will be fit for action in the next fortnight, while Neetlingh Fouché is in line to make his return from an ankle injury next week.

Team doctor Org Strauss confrimed Irne Herbst, Piet van Zyl, Callie Visagie, Morné Mellett, Nick de Jager and Dennis Visser have all been ruled out for the rest of the season.
