The Bulls’ set-piece performance let them down against the Jaguares in Buenos Aires, according to SARugbymag.co.za’s Opta-powered stats.

This season the Bulls have had a 90% lineout success rate, but they rested skipper Adriaan Strauss for the trip to Argentina, and in the end they battled at this set piece on Saturday.

The Bulls lost three lineouts, while Jaguares skipper Agustín Creevy scored a brace of tries from the back of well-executed lineout drives.

With heavy rain falling in Buenos Aires, the Jaguares also gained the upper hand at scrum time, and ultimately produced a performance that was far more suited to the difficult conditions.
