Brumbies wing Chance Peni has received a five-week ban for a high tackle on Crusaders wing Israel Dagg.
The incident took place in the 20th minute of last Saturday’s match in Canberra, which the Crusaders won 21-8.
Dagg, who had returned from a long-term knee injury the week before, suffered a concussion and an injury to his right knee.
Sanzaar’s foul play review committee accepted a guilty plea from Peni, who was yellow-carded by referee Jaco Peyper for the tackle.
However, Sanzaar deemed it had met the red-card threshold for foul play and suspended him from all forms of rugby up to and including 17 June.
