The Highlanders have confirmed the appointment of Tony Brown as the team’s new head coach on a two-year deal.
Brown replaces Aaron Mauger, who vacated the head coaching position in September, and will be in charge from now until the end of the 2022 Vodacom Super Rugby season. The franchise is yet to appoint any assistant coaches to work with Brown.
The 45-year-old Brown worked as Highlanders assistant coach between 2014 and 2016 and was promoted to head coach in 2017 before he was sacked.
Despite his return to the Highlanders, Brown has confirmed he will stay on as one of Jamie Joseph’s assistants for Japan.
