Saracens hooker Schalk Brits has been shortlisted for the 2014 European Player of the Year award.

Brits is one of three representatives from the European Cup finalists, including flank Jacques Burger and winger Chris Ashton.

There are also two players from European champions Toulon, flyhalf Jonny Wilkinson and flanker Steffon Armitage. Wilkinson won the award last year following Toulon's success in Dublin over Clermont.
