Outgoing Griquas coach Brent Janse van Rensburg will join the Sharks as an assistant coach to Sean Everitt for next year’s Vodacom Super Rugby season.
Griquas confirmed this week the Janse van Rensburg will depart the union as he looks to step up to a higher level.
SARugbymag.co.za has learned that the 39-year-old has decided to link up with the Sharks as an assistant coach. Sean Everitt, who coached the Sharks during the Currie Cup, will take over from Robert du Preez as Super Rugby head coach.
According to Netwerk24, Janse van Rensburg will take Jaco Pienaar’s role as forwards coach.
Janse van Rensburg only joined Griquas last year as a replacement for Peter Engledow but managed to help the side claim the Provincial Rugby Challenge title as well as a place in the Currie Cup playoffs this year.
He previously spent a year with the Pumas, where he also managed to win the Rugby Challenge.
