Marnitz Boshoff is back at flyhalf for the Lions' match against the Highlanders in Dunedin on Saturday.
Boshoff was on the bench for the tour opener against the Chiefs last weekend, with Elton Jantjies given a rare start, but has regained the No 10 jersey following that 38-8 loss.
In other changes, Anthony Volmink will start on the left wing and MB Lusaseni at No 4 lock.
Corné Fourie has been called up to provide prop cover, while Rudi Mathee and Warwick Tecklenburg are also new inclusions on the bench.
Meanwhile, Highlanders flyhalf Lima Sopoaga has been ruled out of the match with an ankle sprain and replaced by Hayden Parker. In other changes to the backline, Phil Burleigh comes in for Shaun Treeby at outside centre and Jason Emery replaces Trent Renata on the left wing.
Among the forwards, Shane Christies starts at openside flank instead of John Hardie, Ged Robinson replaces Liam Coltman at hooker, while Chris King moves across to loosehead with Ma’afu Fia at tighthead.
