The Border Bulldogs beat the Boland Cavaliers 24-17, while the Leopards and SWD Eagles also won in the Currie Cup First Division on Saturday.
The Bulldogs powered their way to a 17-7 half-time lead in Bredasdorp and earned a bonus-point try in the second half, from fullback Soso Mqalo. They then worked hard to hold off a determined Cavaliers outfit, who added 10 points to their tally in a late comeback effort.
Meanwhile, the Leopards continued to stamp their authority in the competition, as they stretched their winning run to three matches by beating the EP Elephants 28-21 in Port Elizabeth. The men from Potchefstroom built up a 14-7 half-time lead, with both sides crossing the chalk twice in the second half.
The SWD Eagles were too strong for the Griffons in George as they registered a convincing 32-7 victory. Eagles wing Marlo Weich scored a brace, while flyhalf Divan Nel kept the scoreboard ticking over with three conversions and two penalty goals.
