Springbok flyhalf Handre Pollard is ‘soon’ set to return to action after an extended injury layoff.
Pollard ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament while playing for Montpellier in a French Top 14 clash against Racing 92 last October, but has recently returned to training.
‘He’s advancing well. He’s on the training field with us as normal. He should be with us on a match sheet very soon,’ said Montpellier coach Philippe Saint-Andre said.
‘We’re doing everything we can so Handre can be available as quickly as possible. We’re not taking any risks, but he’s feeling good,’ he added.
This Saturday Montpellier face Bordeaux-Begles in the Top14, while next next weekend they head to Bath in the European Challenge Cup semi-final.
