Damian de Allende and Matt Proudfoot insist head coach Rassie Erasmus has the full support of the entire Springbok set-up.
After South Africa’s back-to-back defeats to Argentina and the Wallabie, Erasmus’ win record is 43% after seven Tests. He said earlier in the week his unprecedented six-year contract will mean nothing if his side fails to get a win against the All Blacks.

But on Tuesday, De Allende and Proudfoot explained that Erasmus has taken a long-term view in terms of strategic planning and that everyone in the Bok camp is buying into his vision.
‘As South Africans, we tend to complicate things for ourselves,’ De Allende said. ‘Rassie has come in and simplified things. He also has a totally different look on the game, which is nice. He adds a new dimension of how we look at things on the field.’

Proudfoot added that Erasmus has the backing of the coaching staff too and that his experience as a head coach puts him in a good position to inspire confidence in the team.
‘Rassie’s planning is spot on and there’s no doubt that we are moving in the right direction,’ said Proudfoot. ‘He has the backing of the management team because we have bought into his philosophy.’
