Springbok and former Lions centre Lionel Mapoe has signed a one-year contract with French club Nice, who will play in the newly formed National League this coming season.
Mapoe left the Lions at the end of the 2018 season to join Stade Francais, but has endured a turbulent spell at the club as he failed to make an impact, much like his countryman Ruan Combrinck.

Following release by Stade, the 31-year-old centre has been snapped up by Nice for the 2020-21 European season.
