All Blacks duo Jerome Kaino and Charles Piutau are set to miss the rest of the Vodacom Super Rugby season through injury.
Blues No 8 Kaino suffered a compound fracture to his finger during his side's victory over the Force on Saturday, while Piutau suffered a similar medial ligament injury to the one which ruled him out for eight weeks last year.
Kaino left the field in the first half and faces up to two months on the sidelines, although he should be fit for the All Blacks' defence of the Rugby Championship in July.
'The bone came out of the skin but from what the doctors have been saying it looks a lot worse than what it is,' Kaino told New Zealand's Sunday Star Times.
'Worst case scenario they say eight weeks. Best case scenario I'll be back in a couple of weeks.
'I wasn't nauseous. I was thinking how to get it back in place and if it was going to hurt. It was a bit numb to start off with but when the doctor started trying to wiggle it back in place that's when the pain started coming.'
Fullback Piutau is also set for a stint on the sidelines, although the Blues will only know the extent of the injury after a scan.
